INVITED SPEAKERS

Michele Marconi is a Marine Biologist. Prior to the Oil and Gas Industry, he worked in the field of Biodiversity Management and Conservation within several Marine Protected Areas. Since 2011 he is working in Eni within the Environmental Department, following the environmental compliance aspects for different exploration and development projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments. Since 2015 he is HSE Manager for the Subsidiary Eni Portugal. 

Romain Baillet is a Consultant graduated in EOST, a French engineering school specialized in geophysics. He has 5 year experience in Oil and Gas consulting service in Beicip Franlab. He belongs to the Seismic Inversion and Seismic Reservoir Characterization team, providing key quantitative interpretations of the seismic data for Clients, all over the world. This characterization work covers lithology and matrix property prediction, fracture characterization and pore pressure prediction. In addition, the team recently took the responsibility of the development of their own inversion software, InterWell, in which he is particularly involved with a strong partnership with CERENA.

Pablo Fraga is a Mechanical Engineer graduated in UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, with 13 years of experience in the Subsea industry, both in engineering and in operations. His specialty is flexible lines and umbilicals installation, and he worked in Brazil, Norway, and now in Portugal, where he is the lead engineer for Subsea 7.

Joao Pedro has worked as a reservoir engineer at Galp Exploração e Produção for two years. His main roles have been: reservoir monitoring and production forecast of Angolan brown fields; setup dynamic models for pressure management and recovery optimization of an Angolan green field; and development of a Brazilian pre-salt reservoir at the conceptual stage, through well test interpretation and history matching. Outside the oil & gas industry, Joao has been involved in research projects from economics to engineering design, and has lectured probability and statistics at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) for two years. Joao holds an M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, a Ph.D. from IST in Leaders for Technical Industries and both M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from IST as well. Joao's latest professional challenge consisted in setting up a reservoir model for quick generation of production profiles for exploration assets. The educational application of this model will be explored in his presentation.

João Vidigal is a Mechanical Engineer with 5 years of experience in flexible pipes design within Technip. João’s experience on flexible pipes design includes projects for offshore field developments in the Brazil, North Sea and GoM regions, as well as R&D studies with special focus on Ultra Deep Water solutions.
